About Us

What is a Physician Assistant?
A Physician Assistant is a master's-degree-prepared healthcare professional who practices medicine with a supervising physician. Their extensive education, experience and licensing allow them to diagnose and treat the same medical conditions as their physician supervisors. Today, board-certified PAs are an integral part of our healthcare system. As part of their responsibilities, PAs perform comprehensive dermatological examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, perform biopsies and other dermatological procedures, order and interpret lab tests, and (in most states, including Florida) prescribe medications.
What is a Nurse Practitioner?
An Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) is a master's- or doctorate-degree-prepared Registered Nurse who is qualified to function independently. ARNPs have completed extensive additional education and training, and they have an expanded scope of practice over the traditional RN role. They practice in collaboration and consultation with physicians, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, health education and counseling in addition to clinical care. ARNPs may conduct physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, order, interpret and perform diagnostic tests or procedures such as biopsies, and develop treatment plans including the prescription of medications.
